Andy, what is the difference between the stone cnc guys and the solid surface cnc guys? No doubl stone cnc costs way more, is the only thing I can think of other than market share collapse.

    Al,

Not sure exactly. I know that the stone machines are much heavier duty. Plus add the water and all that, I think it adds to the overall price.

Maybe someone on this site has both machines and are willing to fill us in.

    All:

I went to pistol league tonight. I didn’t shoot worth a damn, but I did find out that a large granite, estone and solid surface fabricator has shut down his shop.

Before I knew him, I bid a solid surface job against him. He hammered me by about $700.00 on a $3,300.00 job. Maybe it’s no mystery why he went out. When I had him bid a Zodiaq job for me, he left me nothing and I was templating and installing.

This guy was in business for twenty years or so, so it wasn’t like he was inexperienced or didn’t have established customers before the Michigan economy took a poo-poo. I’m sure his stone CNC and V-groover will be or is for sale.

    I’ll keep you posted,

    Joe
