The house we have been working on is finally coming together. This home is helping to keep 6 kids together as a sibling group and OUT of the foster care system.
2 different Corian tearouts are being reassembled in the kitchen.
The original hole spread was too wide, and this was much faster than plugs

These used to be two seperate 36” uppers, and now they are a pantry.

Two old doors, finished off the end of the unfinshed end of the cabinet.

They looked the same outside , everything is relative, and this will be fine.http://s221.photobucket.com/albums/…G_0480.jpg” target=”_blank”>http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/…G_0480.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Photobucket”>
This EC used to be 2 feet taller. It used to live in a room with 10ft cielings. Sawzall and some trim and , here you go….

So many guys only post their best stuff. I love it that you show it all, moulding included. Yeah, we know how it’s supposed to be done and all you purists can think what you please. Sometimes you just got to get ‘er done.
Good job and thanks,
Joe
February 9, 2012 at 10:49 pm #71066Chris YaughnMemberJoe,
Make no mistake, this is my best stuff. Hundreds of guys around the country pull invisible seams every day and run great looking 4 inch splash. For pay.
We have cabinets from one remodel, tops from two different remodels, a donated mobile home, random leftover trim for local contractors, a nail gun, and whatever is in my truck. And we are an hour from the shop. I LOVE IT !!!
We jettisoned the splash option on the top that got quarter round, b/c there was very limited splash from the tearouts.
The Festool Saw has been the workhorse.

Good on ya,
Andy

That is sure some fine work there. That is a one a kind type work, not mass produced. Reminds me of the some of the 20’s and 30’s EU bolt action rifles I have. They dont make stuff like that anymore.
Your work is a value add fabrication from a craftsman with a heart of gold. I think those kids will carry the memory of those special things , built with love, for all their lives.
February 11, 2012 at 7:39 am #71094WagsMemberChris, your building a “Home” not a show house… big difference and you nailed what is important. Amazing what my kids remember 30 – 40 years later, it’s not the “big trips” or “big gifts” it’s the little things. One day many years in the future they will be sitting around reminiscing and someone will say, “remember that counter that didn’t match” and they will laugh… and then remember you with great fondness for what great gift you have given them. And to think, all this without a government program ! This is how helping your fellow man use to be.. and how it should be.
Thank you for what your doing.
