We bid all of our jobs out of Moraware. We don’t get all the jobs and alot of people don’t do the jobs at that time. However, all of the contact information is loaded in the software. So here is my question, Harry, Is there any way you can retrieve all of the addresses of bids that were not turned into jobs and export them into our own database for mailers? This way we can adapt to Shane’s newsletter and send newsletters to already interested customers. We could also tap into the tops that have already been completed and drop our customers a line about resurfacing tops for the Holidays, Summer, etc…

Yes, you can do this in Moraware JobTracker. Probably the easiest way to create a report, then pop it into Excel for formatting. Here’s a screenshot of the sort of thing you’re describing: There is a list of names and addresses for quotes, and I’ve added a few filters to the page. “Quote is not associated with a job” and “Quote Date occurs at least 120 days ago” – this gives a list of old quotes that never turned into jobs.
This report is in our online demo – if you log and hit the “Options” button, you’ll see the fields and filters I added:

You can create reports or views to only look at completed jobs, all jobs, or you can add more filters if you’re looking for very specific kinds of customers or prospects. To move this into excel, you can either copy & paste the whole table, or do a “web query” from excel – here’s a link on our help site on how to do either one:

I hope that helps, give us a call if you want a hand walking through it.

When doing a quote in Moraware can you create an itemized labour budget that can become part of the job work order?
We have built our own Quoting System that also creates budgeted labour times for Travel & Measure, CAD Design, CNC Programming, Shop Cutting, CNC Running, Shop Fabrication and Travel & Install. This information is already available when the quote becomes an order and is included on the work order that goes with the measure then to the CAD department then to the shop. each department is aware of the actual time budgeted for their their particular task.

Moraware JobTracker has a concept of “Estimated
Activities” based on a quote, which I think is close to what you’re
talking about. For example, you can define formulas like:50 sq.ft countertop = 20 minutes CAD +
1 hour cutting + 30 minutes CNC + 2 hours fabrication,…1 sink cutout = 1/2 hour CNC + 1/2 hour
fabrication…10 lin.ft. coved backsplash = 1 hour
fabrication…
…These estimated times show up on the job, but there’s still a step of actually shuffling
the schedule to accommodate your customers, assigning the work to crews, and
changing the actual durations on the job to use on the schedule. If you can show me what you’re doing now, I’ll see what you mean and we can walk through the process together in our software, too.I know a few folks on this forum use the
estimated activities in Moraware –
can you describe what you’re doing?Harry Hollander
