October 24, 2012 at 1:03 pm #5756Jon OlsonMemberWell I
just completed my first year out of the shop and into my new role here at
Sterling Surfaces. Its be quite an adjustment from calling the shots in the in
the shop for 30 years , to an upstairs office job. At first I hated the job
change. But as the days and weeks have passed its been easier. The biggest
adjustment was not being involved in minute by minute chaos that a shop can be.
That was fun.
Now I drink tea,
wear office clothes, price jobs, and help shape the future of our company with
new innovative ideas. It’s also good to see life from the other side of the
tracks. I can see what challenges our Industry has in a very different
perspective.
Looking forward to
this year I have goals I want to reach but also goals for my company and our
Industry.
More
later.

So what you’re saying is you were doing all the social media and promotion stuff in addition to a shop manager’s responsibilities?I don’t know how you found the time or the energy. Chopping wood, perhaps????
Congrats, Jon.
