Kids say the funniest things.
My Daughter is studying about the US government to take her citizenship test next
year.I was talking to her on Skype and asked her if she knew what the meaning of the President’s
Day holiday was?She replied- “Oh don’t be silly Daddy. Everyone knows
what that is.”I asked her to elucidate – She said “That’s when Obama
comes out of the White House and looks around on the lawn. If he sees his shadow
that means another 4 years of a tanked economy and record double digit
unemployment.”I don’t know if she will pass the Citizenship test, but she seems to
have grasped the basics of our current government regarding the executive branch.

If I am lying I am dying. She really said that. Beer flew out of my nose. She owes me a new keyboard BTW.They are Chinese and get all mixed up on American Holidays (yet they expect me to remember all the Chinese ones). I think she mixed groundhog day up with presidents day.They say Happy Christmas and Merry New Year. I just roll with it.
But I had to laugh at her and love her, and say…that’s my baby girl daughter!
