There is a company called Centura Solid Surface . They are in the midwest, Indiana I think. I don’t remember the name of the product but he had applied for a patent on it. It was 3/8 inch solid surface over a plastic hexagonal honeycomb.
I don’t know if that is what you are looking for exactly but I just throw this out there, just in case it can help. Watch that guy carefully, he is like me..in some ways. You need to use extreme caution. My advice is take delivery first, inspect it up and down and then pay the money.
I have seen that hexagonal aluminum honeycomb over here in China before. It’s all over the place.
August 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm #76155Andy GravesKeymasterWhen I do a search, I see a ton of Chinese websites that offer all sorts of different panel types. I try to find it here and it has eluded me.
I want to use if for spacing rather than MDF. Apparently they use it in Europe all the time. It is just a standard thing. Material would be great for quartz subtops as well.

We were working on a project years back where I had contacted a company called Nida Core that made what you are looking for. Project died, but they sent me a bunch of stuff.
Google search says 3M bought them out.
Not much of a lead, but may be worth pursuing.
