I usually run my metalworking spindles for about 10 min @ 2000 rpm before working them. The router gets about the same time @ 5000 rpm. I even have a router program that takes 25 min to run that also utilises the entire X and Y axis to lube the linear guides.
What warmup routines do you use, if any?
my omlat spindle on the destiny runs various speeds for about 1 min (each speed) thats all i do
My Multicam has a warmup you run if the cnc is idle for over 2 hours. It starts slow and eventually gets to 18,000RPM for about 2 minutes. The warmup takes 5 minutes total.
Pretty cool feature. I am sure you could run a program that would do the same thing you are suggesting.
How long is your warmup program?
My AXYZ has a built in warmup when you turn the machine on. It runs 12000 for 10 minutes. You have the option of bypassing it if you wish. We always run it.

Our AXYZ warms up @ 12,000 for ten minutes, like Paul’s
Everyday.
We run a program on the Komo that warms up the spindle each morning. It runs five acsending RPM’s for a minute each, starting at 4500 and finishing at 24000.
