Are there any American Made tools available anymore or are they all made in China or Mexico?
I would like to buy American if possible because I live in America.

Lenny, I was referring to post 1, not post 3, therefore my reaction to post 1 was excruciatingly accurate, signed, the Cowboy
June 6, 2011 at 12:42 am #68061Len SmithMemberIt’s interesting that Europe still makes certain power tools.

Norm,
you sound just like “the Cowboy”.
June 6, 2011 at 11:00 am #68065Andy GravesKeymasterI think Europeans place more value on quality, products built by there fellow countryman.

Norm,

Dang, I take a few days off for vacation and you guys miss me so much you have to imitate me.
Andy:
Why the selection of power tools only? What about the computer on which you’re reading this, the cell phone in your hand, or the shoes on your feet? Fiat owns Chrysler, my wife’s Ford Fusion is built in Mexico and Ohioans build “foreign” Hondas.

June 11, 2011 at 1:31 pm #68120Andy GravesKeymasterI am trying to be more aware of what is built and where. If we all do our part and try to buy things made from countries that respect the United States, we can make a difference. I know it is a small thing and some items will only be made in China, but some are still made in the USA.
June 19, 2011 at 10:32 am #68224KCWOODMemberWe have spent the last week in the Smoky Mountains of Tenn. In Pigeon Forge, they have a factory outlet mall we always stop at. I will visit the Ralph Lauren Store to pick up a few Polo shirts. As I was checking out, as one clerk had run my card, another was folding and placing the items in a bag, I happened to notice the tag and it said MADE IN CHINA… I said wait a minute… lets stop this… I’m not buying anything made in China…
The clerk said, “yeah we have stuff returned all the time when the people realize it was made in China” When I think of Ralph Lauren, I think quality, on the other hand, China = cheap junky crap. I walked out empty handed…
My other tags from RL are from Boliva, Italy
