Hello jmanbravol. We have started this process in our shop. Instead of hooking into our dist system we plan on using an industrial vac system The price for a vac is about the cost of 5 sanding vacs. So we think it has value to pursue. We hung unistrut from the ceiling and will run the vac tubes from there. Dave is right you can never rid yourself of all the dust. (All we are is dust in the wind) Name that band and Andy will send you a t-shirt.) Um check with Andy first. Karl enjoyed our visit with Fred last week. Thanks for the beer.
Shirt?
Overhead yes, we did that back in the day, Power, Air and Vac all overhead at each work station. For the most part the products came to the workers, but still to many cords, lines and what not on the floor is bad. Look at your overall shop layout first, where do your raw goods come in and what is the best path for finished parts out. Take a look at factories from other industries, the layouts and work flow, in the end parts is parts.
Thanks Jon, beer time is always good. Fred really enjoyed hooking up with you guys, he will be following up soon!
The band was Kansas – Writen by Kerry Livgren, the bands guitarist.
