I know this is a old post but we use a marine adhesive glue in the grey colour to match the stainless bowl and if the bowl is warped we just bend it to a close enough straight finishI know this is even 3 yrs later, but I’m grateful to have found this thread…just getting ready to undermount a blanco Stainless undermount sink in a laminate countertop…and was really excited about the 3M 5200.
My question is: What adhesive exactly are you using to get the GREY color?
The Blanco sink I am using has a small radius and therefore using GREY would be a big help… I cannot find a GREY version of any 3M Polyurethane adhesive! ( White and black and mahogany only)
Thanks so much,What blanco sink are you trying to undermount?
I wouldnt try to undermount a traditional stainless undermount sink in laminate without doing this.

April 2, 2013 at 9:20 am #75029Steve MehanMemberAndy, The second picture is after sanding the area for about 1 hour. The discoloration is still there.
I had this issue with there Allegheny color a few years back and I have been able to sand out the discoloration on most but some I can not get it all the way out.
We decided to stop using the EOS product and now I see that they have discontinued there color Allegheny all together hmmmm. I recently contacted them by phone and sent pictures by email asking for some help and to see what can they do for this and no responce then I sent a follow up email also with no responce.
I have never received any advise with this issue form EOS other then the discussion here on this thread from Gordon and at first from Ken Trinder back in 2010 telling me to just try sanding.
As for my shop we will stay clear of the EOS, GEOS & CUPRON until we feel confident in there products enough to offer them.March 30, 2013 at 12:41 pm #75016Steve MehanMemberMy problems with the EOS material are starting to pop up again, this time with there Barington color.
Below are some images of a bathroom vanity countertop that has the same water discoloration problems. All of these issues are on the same project and if your new to this thread take the time to read from the begining about the history with this problem.
I will say that after we starting having problems with the EOS products we did stop using them and switched to another brand material and havent had these issues.Whats bothering me now is I have contacted EOS about this and sent images only to get no responce.
March 20, 2013 at 6:38 pm #74934Steve MehanMemberWe have used most brands of solid surface sinks as undermounts in laminate tops. They have sll been in gor years.
February 19, 2013 at 3:56 pm #74618Steve MehanMemberThis sounds like what I have been hearing alot lately. Same things going on here in New York. We spent quite a bit of time with some folks a month ago. They picked out a product and liked the price.
A few days later they called to say they were buying appliances at lowes and by chance they gave them a price 1400.00 less then us. I explained lowes way of quoting and by chance it may change when all is said and done. They asked if I could come close to lowes price then, I would have the job. I explained that was not going to happen and told them why. The homeowners responce was for 1400.00 I’ll take my chances.Dani, Just wondering how you happened to talk with this people again, did they call you to let you know what happened?

Steve as long as the tiles are adhered good I don’t see any problems. At times we have done full backsplash over tiles .Jon,
You dont see any problems with this type of install or it being OK not to use a seam strap being the seam would be supported by the current top or both?Steve
December 17, 2012 at 7:05 pm #73931Steve MehanMemberWeve been doing some paperstone jobs lately. I like the product. Its definitely not like solid surface. The jobs weve used it on the folks had originally wanted soapstone then decided for the paperstone. When a seam is needed we explain and show them a sample seam. We dress the seam like a soapstone seam and not try and sell it on being inconspicuous. Finish mostly oil but have also used wipe on poly. I also like the sheet sizes.

October 24, 2012 at 7:53 pm #73357Steve MehanMemberWe have been doing alot more quartz lately and most pieces are in that 400 range. What I find is being the one walking backwards up a few steps is tough.
