Google Expressions LTD  concrete.com  Go under their products menu and search for concrete  and its either under the  sink molds or its under the countertop supplies..  the have extremely friendly staff  if you can’t find it on the  website  call them and ask about slot drain adapters..  Email me jazncarr@yahoo.com  if you have any problems.  You can attach them  with clip and rod bonder  and you can use the 2 part epoxy for the studs and then just use silicone and wing nuts  ( should be included)

gfrc you can give it the build up appearance of any thickness you want. but don’t go less than 3/4 or an inch or you may run accross some cupping and shrinkage problems( answer mix design)

@ Rick Hugill NPR is nothing but really expensive rainex… and If you look at those NPR youtube videos they are casting on Lexan…
Also If you polish the surface past 200 grit any topical sealer you use will not adhere and thats what will ruin your tops. Most people don’t want concrete to be that shiny…. using melamine on a decent built casting table you can get 2 pours out of each sheet.

@ Tom M theres two ways to pour tops depending on your application and the finished look your going for. The cast in place look gives you a trowled finish or you can use it when the customer has spec’d a large piece for a bar or something with no seams. When you do this you can’t control your humdity or the temperature that the concrete is going to cure at.

Cracks and sealing you need to get away from using canned mixes and find a mix receipe whether its wet cast or gfrc and make use of the admixes to get your concrete as dense as possible so the sealer will accent the concrete vs having a pourous concrete and trying to make your sealer do something its not designed to do.. Also promising a customer champagne and caviar and then feeding them beer and pretzels doesn’t help anybodys cause…

Something else not helping the cause Is Chenga big concrete school guy on the left coast telling every tom dick and harry that with a couple of tools and a few bags of pre mix from home depot you can sell countertops for 100+ psf… I’m lucky If I can get 50

I love my festool sander but the dani design kit doesn’t work for me once i get to the green pad the swirly as really bad….. I clean and wipe every step and i get massive pigtails. and At the end of the process I get shiny pigtails.. I use the festool at 120 and 240 then switch to the portacable sander that comes with the kit and use the 30 u pad and then switchto the festool platin /mirkaoam backed pads damp and go 500 ,1000, 2000, and 400 and that gives a nice gloss but its not mirror like. finesse it for anything more than that.+

I don’t know if my backer pad is busted I’m using all fresh pads and papers every time.. I tried the trizacs at first and they didn’t have a way to attach to the 125 or the 150 I had. I think it was called hook it 1 or something odd ball

I use granat 120, 240 and 320. Then I switch to platin 500, 1000, I mist. The tops down. For the 500 and the 1000 and then buff then till the slurry is dry and then go over it again typically the north and south pass is wet and then the east and west pass is after It hazes up and dries… if you want to go higher then same process with the 2000 and 4000. You can use the pads over again just soak them and let them dry.. kinda pricey. But the trizac pads are about the same price and are hard to find interfaces for sanders

well what I proposed tot he customer was to do the countertop color for the shower seat trim, and checkerboard the floor with white and the livingstone color they picked to liven things up and do something a little different. They haven’t decided on anything final other than they want a glass block wall to give this shower a little privacy…

The customer wants to do a true custom oddball shaped walk in shower. They also live in a city where the water leaves a odd red film and they want something that’s easier to clean. I think what im going to suggest to the customer is a tiled shower with a liner and using 4×4 tiles of white and the color they have chosen for the countertops and trim in a checker board or subway type pattern:….. you guys have any other ideas?

Is it part of a countertop or a window sill sort of thing? Could you do a contrasting color and. Inlay the color in the existing top to equal it out? Is the sink cut out present?

Your going to need to cut your sections and alot of deck seams to make your lengths out of 30 inch wide material..

Andy the Change order didn’t work. When I talked to the remodeler   a little more they Apparently bought this business a year ago and they are still having beginners woes like I am.  I asked them If he wanted another change order for anything to add 100.00  for materials and fuel for repeated trips to the job site.   They remembered to charge him the change order  for the vanity rebuild because he didn’t like the  2 inch protrusion in the middle of the cabinet. Now he only wants it to stick out 3/4 of an inch” because thats the way it looks in the picture”  But they didn’t include my request on the change order.  so I’m still pouring another slab when the vanity comes back again…..

Momma said there were going to be days like this
As for pictures, I told them to keep the top and  put it in their showroom  to show  new clients since I can’t do anything with it… Had to salvage some of the cost and I classified it as a advertising expense..
    Any other  suggestions???
