The white cuts almost look like saw overcuts, that were filled with something that was too white and the a really bad sharpie job to try and blend it in. Those marks are not OK, and could be fixed to look a lot better. If I am looking at it right.
I do not see the “crack” either.

September 30, 2013 at 10:48 pm #76318Chris YaughnMemberIt is a pain no matter how you do it.
Mark it front and back. On the front cut all sides as deep as you can, without overcutting. Then connect the corners as deep as you can. You end up with a rectangle with an “X” in it.
Flip the splash and cut the lines on the back. You should connect with the cuts from the front pretty easy. Overcut from the back being careful not to go outside of your cuts on the front side. Pop out the 4 small triangles, and clean up as best you can.
August 10, 2013 at 10:30 pm #76027Chris YaughnMemberIf you don’t know what the list is, and know where to go to get the prices, this may be a very rocky endeavor for you.
The 2 fabricators on your list are probably the biggest variables. Do you know where they are coming from?
July 30, 2013 at 10:23 pm #75929Chris YaughnMemberIf I can rustle up a shower pan, the first one will be installed this week.
The cost of getting it back to Ga, compared to what the shower walls were going to cost ( 8 showers), is being heralded as a minor miracle in the little town of Davisboro. 🙂
Kind of crazy that God laid the groundwork for some shower walls at The Ranch nearly 10 years ago at a convention in FL. …. 🙂
July 29, 2013 at 9:34 pm #75911Chris YaughnMemberThanks Lenny!!
I know a stone guy that works at the LG plant in N. Georgia. Don’t know that I knew they handled Hi Macs also, I will run down that lead.
July 28, 2013 at 11:08 pm #75896Chris YaughnMemberWho is still a stateside manufacturer?
Does anyone, know anyone at Avonite that I could talk to? I will start with the front desk and say “yes ma’am” a lot, and see, but it would be nice to have a specific person to ask for.
July 12, 2013 at 10:27 pm #75751Chris YaughnMemberMatt,
Did you ever consider donating it? Or PM me what you are thinking it would sell for.
I know of a great outlet for tons of 1/4” cutting boards.
May 12, 2013 at 10:06 pm #75405Chris YaughnMemberJust looked at the picture.
In all likelihood that is just sloppy caulk work and will clean up with denatured alcohol and elbow grease.
May 12, 2013 at 10:05 pm #75404Chris YaughnMemberThere should be some type of mechanical anchors also holding the sink up. Stone blocks, clips, anchors, sink rails, wood, etc…. Something to hold the sink in place until the silicone cures.
If there is no mechanical anchor at all, that is another issue I would discuss with the installer.

February 13, 2013 at 9:36 pm #74574Chris YaughnMemberBroken Shackle Ranch made these from donated materials…..
I was there today meeting about some really interesting things. Noticed the desks on the way out.
These may very well be put together with glue donated by The Glue Warehouse. Not sure, I did not think to ask.
Or the seams may have been pulled with donated paraligns or omni-cube seam setters…………………………
All of those points of light converging in Davisboro GA……… Go Figure

January 4, 2013 at 8:51 pm #74046Chris YaughnMemberWall mount static stickers that we applied while the paint was still a little tacky.
Buzz was a custom order for a 4 year old and the stickers were like $12 or soomething. Put on in one piece and then razor bladed the open areas.
