    ^^^^^What Wags said! +1

Wags is a legend in the Industry, like Tom M, Green Gene , and the up and coming legend David Gerard.

There is an old saying in the decorative surfacing industry…

“It’s a small exclusive club. The company name on the biz card may change, but the faces remain the same!”

Oh BTW, please give a shout out to Andy (company name Olive Mill) also a legend in the industry.

His tireless efforts have created this miracle we call “Fabnet” where we can come together and learn from each other!

It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Good leads Lenny. I ended up taking training from avonitesurfaces. I don’t know if they still train but penske was my next option.
Corian………your singing my song. Great material but..
    Good luck!

    David,

IMO Livingstone kicks Corians Butt! IMHO its flatter, it’s better and it’s cheaper and as an added bonus you don’t have to deal with those DuPont..A holes. What do you expect from a company that got its start back in the day making gunpowder and selling it to both sides in ever war that  they could?
Those guys are real sleazy, don’t even get me started.
You should see some of the acrylic I’m churning out in China.  It’s great stuff.
I’m hanging with Dwight and you on this issue.
As we say in Texas, F them and the horse they rode in on!

    Howdy Dwight,

ISFA does training in Orem UT. They have 2 courses- Level 1, and level 2 which is repairs. See HERE  They also do training in quartz in a separate course.

    It’s a good class.

I think Tom Penske still does training up in Plato MN too.  See HERE

I have never taken that class so I really don’t know much about it.

Don’t hold me to this and inquire, but I believe Avonite,, Livingstone, Meganite, Staron etc., accepts training from ISFA and/or Penske as certification, or at least they used to.

I hope this helps. Best wishes on finding the training you seek and welcome to Fabnet.

    John,

I don’t think I will be doing any shows. I am arriving the states late Jan 2014. Then 1 or days later I have to fly to meet with a surfacing company. Then fly  off to meet the parents (they are quite old..Dad is 87, will be 88 next year).

Then there is taxes, guns to pick up and shoot, a gunsafe to buy and install.

And I need t look at Ammo storage as I’m up over 30K rounds now and I just know that crap will blow up someday.

I would love to see ya again.  I am glad you are doing well. You were always one of my favorite people.

If you ever make it down to the last free republic within the US (TEXAS) look me up!

With his voting record I would not be endorsing him myself.

    David,

My friend, I’m going to have to go with Wag’s on this one. He, like me,  is older than dirt
I don’t much know or care about Alaska politics, I only care Texas!

    Mr. Chen,

That’s one of the main things that separates US citizens from Chinese citizens.

We get to own guns! Population of the US is about 314 million. there are upwards of over 300 million guns in the citizens hands.

The Army has about 2,700,000 rifles/pistols. The police have about 1, 200,000 give or take.

That’s exactly why the Japanese did not invade the mainland US during WWII. One Japanese general or admiral said if I can remember the quote correctly..

“There would be a rifle pointed at us behind every blade of grass”.

And 20% of those US citizen owned firearms are in one province, my State…Texas!

A common saying is “Don’t mess with Texas!” We used to be own country before joining the US, and may be again the way things are going.

I need to  EXIT  China next month and come back again at the end of March.
I look forward to chatting with you after my return.
If you are ever down Texas way, stop on in and say hi!
We can do some hunting, target shooting and fishing.
All my Chinese friends get a real kick out of that.

He really did a great job at resurrecting martial arts movies. Good sense of humor as well.

    Yep,

I always liked Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and some others.
Funny story..I was kicking it in Hong Kong and we were down by the waterfront. I was kinda drunk and we came across Jackie Chan’s cigarette boat. Nice boat BTW.
I said “lets steal it and boat across the harbor and  down the  way and park it in between all the fishing boats, junks etc., that many HK families live on full time. It may help him rediscover his roots.”
They talked me out of it. 🙂

Thanks Tom for the well wishes.

I think of you guys from afar, especially with this Obama-care-less fiasco going on.

I Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year to follow.

    Mr. Chen,

am returning to US shortly before Chinese New Year to collect my recent gun and ammunition purchases, check on my wife, daughter and her beau, Mother in law, etc.

I shall return to China in late March, 2014 . Maybe we can meet after that.

    Tom M,

I didn’t see that episode of South Park. It sounds hilarious.

    The wise man once said,

“A Rolling Chen gathers no moss”.

    That was a joke sonny!

Merry Christmas to you and your family Mr. Chen.

I make it up to Xiamen once in a while, maybe I will call on you with your permission, if I have the time.

that guy right there, Lenny, needs to suffer from a case of police brutality. And I have no problem with it.

    John,

How the heck are you? It’s been way too long.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
I worked today and am working tomorrow. Christmas means nothing to the ‘Evil Yellow Horde”. But yet  they expect me to grasp the concept of Lunar New Year at end of Jan., beginning of Feb.
I hear you on the Prius guy. He must of took driving lessons in China. These guys are the most back asswards drivers in all  the world. If Chinese fighter pilots emulate typical Chinese driving habits,  we have nothing to worry about! They will crash and burn on their own!
The driving tests here should include a firing squad if you fail!
I can’t wait to take the last train out of Dodge City before Chinese New Year.
I bought my self a Christmas present, conflict weapons of all shapes sizes.. About 14 of em coming (counting the Jungle Carbine and 3rd AK underfolder my 01 dealer in the US is holding for me).
    Here is da list:
    M39 Finn  Mosin
    M44 Tula hex receiver Mosin
    .22 Enfield trainer
    .22 M69 trainer
    MD57  pistol
    CZ82 pistol
    rare mossad 2 tone pistol
Chinese 213 pistol with 9 mm and 7.62 x 25 mm switchable barrels
type 99  Arisaka (Jap WWII rifle)
    Parkerized Tula  Mosin
    UF 55 enfield
    Case WWII fighting knife
Now I have to buy another safe..woe is me!

    Tom M,

As you can most likely infer, I am not a big fan of Prius or their owners.
    See HERE
Now back in the day when I was driving Camaro’s, vettes, souped up Malibu’s and such I would have cleaned this guy’s clock.
When I got a CHL that all changed. I’m never unarmed in the States. Everyone in the family sleeps with a pistol under the pillow. So when jerks like this flip me the bird, or yell or act like total A holes I just smile and let em go, because I’m carrying. Usually a chopped AK (officially a pistol)  and PPS-43C (Polish semi auto version of a Russian tanker sub machine gun classified by the BATF as a pistol).
I know if the guy got out of his car and busted my window in a road rage fashion  I would have to shoot his dumb ass. It just isn’t worth it. The ‘Peace Officers”  hold us CHL guys to a higher standard of the law than the general public.
A well armed society is a polite society.
If you don’t believe that come to ‘Godless, Gunless, Gutless” China and view  these ill mannered ignorant jerks in all their dysfunction.

Don’t be fooled by that crazy Lenny E. Everything he said is spot on. He is a guru of sorts. Like the Drunken Master, so to speak.

Cudnik, these guys won’t steer you wrong. There are more than several millenium of combined decorative surfacing experience on here.

    Tom,
Thanks for the compliment. I caught the Jackie Chan movie reference. Back when I was studying Chinese martial arts and had my own Kung Fu school at the time I enjoyed this clip.
This is right after he drunk some lamp oil (he fought best when he had a fair amount of alcohol or related substance  in him). Reminds me of my last meeting with a certain US major SS company (he who shall not be named).
    See HERE
Please Keep the comments and helpful hints coming for Cudnik. I didn’t by any means want to dis rail the thread.
