Andy,
There should be an area in your post processor to add “footer” info that will be appended to every program you make.I will have to look at our post to our Andi when I get into the office to see what ours is. Our Northwood does this and so does our Andi, so I’m sure yours can also.August 7, 2013 at 8:42 am #76001Guy RobertsonMemberAndy,
You need to remove this persons contact info so another person doesn’t get scammed out of a non-refundable deposit.
December 15, 2012 at 4:12 pm #73907Guy RobertsonMemberIf you google the “The International Surface Fabricators Association”, google says the “site may be compromised”. Based on the “Xylene” or something like that, that I see in the google results, I’m thinking there are some hidden bad links on the home page that ISFA needs to take care of.

June 27, 2012 at 4:54 pm #72423Guy RobertsonMemberWe were just switched to Hallmark as our previous Corian distributor closed their doors. We placed our first order last week and were less then satisfied with the service. I brought this up to my Dupont rep (who happened to be my previous salesman at Onthank) and his explanation was that Hallmark put a new computer system in place 5/1/12….and it isn’t going like they planned. Unanswered phone calls were one of the problems the MN branch was having. This could be the same issue with your branch.

Andy, what is the difference between the LT-55 and the XL version?
I think the original LTs came with a small PDA to control them and the XL versions have a true tablet. (but….I don’t own one, some I’m not 100% positive)

Wonder how long till his post on the stone forum comes to light and proves just how creepy he really is ?
Wags,
What post on what stone forum? I’m one of the board members for the Stone Fabricators Alliance and I’m not aware of any post on our site.
As an FYI…Joe did post two times on our site Monday. Both were civil as we are watching him very very closely. Like over here at this site, our forum has been much more productive since he has been pre-occupied with his newest venture and not had time to stir the pot.

I just got a notice that Caesarstone is having half slabs for sale. Just wondering if this is a way to correct their warping problem. Just an interesting way to do business if the slab has been on a A-frame too long and warped. Anybody got a comment?
They (and a few others) are going to half slabs to help increase sales. I’ve had more then 1 job lost b/c it’s a slab plus very little and bidding it at 2 slabs throws my number way out of the budget window. Plus half slabs (27″ usually) helps get vanity jobs more in budget also.
Interesting thought on the warping and “reclaiming” possibly damaged slabs.

This happens with all quartz products to some extent. Some are more prone then others. My best guess (and other fabbers opinion also) is that it is from internal stress in the quartz. Why we don’t know, but I’m venturing a guess that they tried to “cook” it too quick.
How was the cut being made? Was it a plunge in the middle trying to work to the outside of the slab? This is usually a sure fire way to get it to bind. What we have found that helps is to make your two trim cuts on the length and width first. Try not to do any cuts from inside to the outside.
December 7, 2011 at 8:20 pm #70263Guy RobertsonMemberThanks Tom. I am from “far away”….Iowa.
I’m familiar with Slabsmith. It DOES NOT do what you are implying….it does not take a top and automatically break it based on the slab.
What it does (and does VERY WELL), is take dxfs of a top you have already split and allow you to move them around on a photo of the slab to see how the two pieces look (real time) at the seam.
Thanks

Trevor, interestingly enough, there are stone fabrication software packages that analyze the slab and plcae seams accordingly,
Tom,
Which ones do this b/c I’m not aware of any that do. I would be interested in looking into them though.
Thanks in advance.
