So, we get on the plane in Atlanta wensday morning on our way to Jacksonvill enroute to Orlando and the Surfaces show. Plane captain mentions in his greeting that we have four Soldiers on board, and the plane erupts in applause. After a nice flight, we are pulling up to the loading dock and the plane captain asks that we let the soldiers off first as a sign of respect. More applause, and every soul stays in their seat till the soldiers get up, get their bags and start off the plane. At least until a little old lady stands up and asks if she can give one of them a hug.

One soldier got three hugs on the way out of the plane! As well as cheers from the rest of us.

Patriotism is alive and well in Jacksonville. Is this a great country or what?

Bitchen. Don’t you love it when you see it first hand? There is a lot of respect and patriotism, even if some disagree.

    That was great, al.

Thanks for sharing that. G-d bless them all.

I bet they were humbled and embarrassed to be singled out.

    But they will remember it.

I like it because its the right thing to do. I had the pleasure Sat late afternoon to be part of a welcome home for a young Marine that was injured when a 61mm Morter landed next to him. Originally reported as KIA. Great young man and a great turn out to surprise him. Also had the sad task of attending a funeral Sat morn… We owe them all the respect we have.

    Thanks for sharing Al
