MemberHi All
I am trying to find out the best type of lighting for the Avonite glass series. I am doing a vanity with underlit lighting that the customer wants as a nightlight. I was thinking of l.e.d.lights but can anyone tell what manufacturer is best
Thanks

He has some lighting websites that are pretty cool. Or You could just wait for him to respond here

MemberI went to a sign makers show a few months back and was introduced to a LED light that was in a tape form. Approx. 1/16″ thick, can be ordered in any width, length, or color. What I liked about it was this exact application, because it can be stuck to the under side of the top directly instead of mounting to the cabinet box and worrying about shadowing. I will try to find the info on it, but it was very cool.

That is exactly what I was looking for. I have contacted the company and asked for information. When the project is done I will post some pics.
Thanks

MemberDavid,
The problem with L.E.D lighting is the life span. Once a top is installed you don’t want to be fixing dead lights down the road. My Avonite vanity is lit with a Neon tube I had a sign shop make for me from a template. The tube is set in silicone dabs around the edge with the substrate set back from the tube. The advantage of Neon is the 30+ year life span with no heat and very little energy consumption. Make sure your customer is aware of the shadows in the top when lit under neath.

MemberHi Dani
Thanks for the heads up on the led life span. The neon tube sounds like a good fit for this customer.
Thanks
