Congrats on your son Kelsey. I was only in Japan twice and never made it too far away from the Tokyo airport (Narita I think its called). I knew people who were stationed there for years and they liked it a lot. Is he going to be stationed at Kadena AFB in Okinawa?

    Andy,

That is actually one of the more coherent conversations I have heard with Room Service and waiters over here. I had a waiter once trying to confirm if I wanted eggs. I had asked for eggs. He flapped his arms like  chicken wings  and crowed and stuck his hand behind his butt and then held it up with his thumb and fingers making an egg shape. I had to laugh and said Wo Yao (I want) with trepidation not knowing for sure if I was going to get some type of eggs, or a crap sandwich!

He’s actually going to be at Yokota Air Base, close to Tokyo.  He’s worked very hard for this assignment. He had a scholarship at another school, but decided at the last minute he wanted to join the AF ROTC so he switched to the University Of Louisville.  He was one of 6 selected across the country to go to FreeFall school, the only skydive school where you solo your first jump. He earned his jump wings .   He was selected to be an an escort for the Congressional Medal of Honor reunion, an exceptional priviledge. He’s always wanted to go to Japan, so when he called with the good news he was selected for this, I had to ask, “does this mean my grandkids might not be over 4ft tall? LOL

    Subject:  Inner Peace

I’m passing this on because it worked for me today.

A doctor on TV said that in order to have inner peace in our lives, we should always finish things that we start.

Since we all could use more calm in our lives,

I looked around my house to find things I’d started & hadn’t finished.

First, I finished a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, then a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminum scriptins, an a box a choclutz.

Yu has no idr how fablus I feel rite now.

Sned this to all ur frenz who need inner piss . . .

    An telum u luvum

    Hic upp!
