Tom Harms with Fabricator Choice offers a program to redue your shop layout to optimize the flow. I guess there are other companies that offer it also. Has anyone done this with their shop and does it make a bit of difference?

I always wondered how that would work out. I am sure they would completely change my shop around. I have heard it is pricy to have someone come out and do that sort of thing but if it makes the flow better I guess you would make the money back in no time, right? I think you should have it done and let us know how it works out for you.

Andy, I have been thru this process a few times in the past. It paid off big time for us, of course we got it done for free as we were buying 100’s of 1000’s of dollars worth of equipment and changing our shop lay out at the same time. It will change your thinking from then on about each step in every process you do. I’d be more than willing to talk about it in more detail with you if you like.
