I was under the impression that we cant use Rubbing alcohol to wipe down Solid Surface. Does anybody know if this is correct?

In California we are not allowed to use Denatured Alcohol. Not sure if that includeds Rubbing Alcohol. Maybe Matt from Formica or one of the Avonite guys can fill us in.

I heard that rubbing alcohol has oils and fragrances in it that will leave residue and could affect glue joints. Any truth to this/

Hello Aaron Very good Information. Seems like its okay to use rubbing Alcohol. The reason I asked is we just fell into a god deal in some wipes that have rubbing alcohol on them. I tried a test on GW and it seemed okay.

FYI Are you guys checking out e-bay? Just purchased a used polygun for $25.00 its in very good shape.

Rubbing alcohol does have some oils in it that can react with your adhesive, be careful.

    Jon,

I’ve been watching ebay for a month trying to pick up a few festool items. The people buying the items I have watched apparently don’t do much research. Anyway, I think I am just going to break down and get them new. ?Unless of course anyone has a gently used plunge circular saw and vac for sale?

Talk to Steve @ Monument Toolworks. He can get you the Festool special offer on the set click here

If you order them online @ Festoolusa, just make sure you select Monument Toolworks during the purchase process. Monument sponsors the site so if you buy it through him that would be great.

    Rubbing alcohol also contains acetone.
