OK, I thought I could get away with a quick plug repair (a series of 4-11/2″ plugs) above a dishwasher and not use a seam support underneath. Guess what? They popped on one side. So now I would like some suggestions on repairing the repair. One other piece of info..the first 2 plugs glued in took too long to dry, but they did dry. The second 2 dried in normal time. I’d appreciate any thoughts on making this the final repair. Thanks, Rob

Rob, I would get a repair template from Kevin Andreas, he is the repair guru in the industry. After doing the repair I would attach a seam plate under it, only because it is above a dishwasher. As far as the adhesive not setting up, could be alot of things, not purging the cartridge, not purging the tip, adhesive too old, not stored properly, adhesive too cold, there are more.

Rob, problems with seams or repairs above dish washers is not uncomon. I would sugest that all seams and repair types be reinforced if you can. To go the extra mile add some hard core foam (Home Depot has it) on top of the dish washer to keep the heat and steam away from the top.

Hard Core Foam…What is that? Is it in the insulation area?

Thanks all. You have confirmed my suspicion that I should have used a seam plate. I also like the idea of adding the insulation. Mory, thanks for the offer. I may be in touch. Rob
