Recently, we bought a new work table. I thought we would try it out and now we are going to buy 8 more. The tables were purchased from GranQuartz. We like them because they are totally adjustable. The ends of the table can be popped off and moved instantly. They will adapt to any configuration. The other thing ithat is so nice is that they are easy to level. We have a PLS laser level that shoots 2 inches over the top of our tables. This way our guys in the shop can always make sure the work stations are level. As they move them the can constantly be checked. The other nice thing is that the tables adapt to out sinks and no matter what counter shape or size they just keep snapping everthing together. They are very heavy duty tables, they are actually made for stone fabrication. Now we will be able to keep our shop completely uniform. One if the most important things is that they adjust and adapt so well. Also in the picutre below you will notice that we use Dani clamps to hold our seam blocks on while we are gluing. We haven’t found any better clamp for this application. Also we nothch the seam block so the glue will squeeze out and the guys don’t have to worry about the deck being hight on on side than the other. It eliminates glue build-up during fabrication. These tables are a very good investment for us.

Very nice Mory. How did you fabricators handle the new benches?

    Mory,

Are the tables guaranteed to be in square and in plane? We have some steel fab tables from another supplier and they dont make good fab tables for solid surface because they are not in perfect plane. After you get the rest and use them for a little let me know, I am still looking for the perfect fab tables.

    John,

They are very high quality tables. I was out in the shop today and yes they are all square and they do plane. They guys in the shop can’t wait for the others to come in. They are a little pricy though so prepare yourself.

Mory is on the right track. Those types of tables require less leveling. Another option is to buy some conveyer tables and take the rollers off. There is tons of this stuff lying around used. Check auctions and material supply places that sell used equipment.
