How many of you guys have used these bowls?

We have done maybe 5-6 of these and really struggle with sanding the bowl after trimming the deck back. The top of the bowl that we hit with sandpaper doesn’t look the same as the non-sanded part of the bowl(rightfully so…huh?). We follow the recommendation of using the steel wool they provide, but it never looks the same. So, we end up scotch-brighting the entire bowl and then using the steel wool to make the entire finish somewhat uniform.

We spend alot of time trying to sand these things to a good finish. I’m hoping you guys can give us a little help.

    Thanks,

    Brady

We use Formica Bronze bowls and have the same issues. We find that finishing with scotchbright is the only way to go.

The bowls cost more and we charge extra to install them. It takes an extra 20 to 30 minutes per bowl compared to standard bowls.

Customers also find they water stain easily. We just installed two vanities and the next day had to go back and show them how to remove the water stains.

I have done a double bowl sink in nickel from Gemstone and the way I did was to use a scotchbrite pad and make a stiration pattern around the sink so that it looks uniform, somewhat how a stainless steel sink looks. As I recall using a little water helped alot.
