Thanks to the gentleman who sent me a copy of the ISFFA annual report.

Membership claimed, page 3 of the report, although listed as unaudited, 966

    966 x $400 = $386,400 per year in dues.

Income from membership dues for the first six months of 2006, $207,325 divided by $400 per member = 518.3125 total members. Somebody either got a deal or is .3125 of a member…..

Now, an unknown is when dues are billed out. The first of the year? One year after you join? What?

Also, we don’t know accounts recievables, who was past due on the finiancial cut off date of 31rst of june, I assume.

Not a complete set of data, inconclusive till someone tells me when dues are assesed.

However, using their data, 2004 had 950 members pay up, 2005 had 940 pay, and they claim 966 paid members on the report so 448 members dues either weren’t due yet, weren’t paid yet or have dropped out.

    Still inconclusive, but a start.

I’m curious why they posted six months of 2006 finiancials, of course the date of the report, August 30, 2006, but why put it in at all? Are they saying that 2005 and 2004 reports were for the actuall calender year or does it chop off at june? Why the change in methods? Or am I wrong here……..

Also ISSFA allows you to pay ahead for several years as well. I paid for 2 or 3 years when I joined. The good part was that I paid the price at the time. They increased the feed the following year but since I had paid ahead I did not get charge the difference. Either way this will skew the numbers. Also memberships are due on your anniversary date I believe since they don’t prorate the memberships.

Whoa, I’m with Norm. Al, that was just enough info to be dangerous.

Anecdotal: I talked to a very good friend, who was the ISSFA Seceratary (officer), today. She just got an updated member list that showed my state as having gained two new members. So that last number on membership could be correct.

Oh, and they were fabricators, too.

Base the numbers on the previous year. There is a pie chart that shows the membership groups. Find the section that says fabricator and multiply the membership revenue the percentage of fabricator members. Devide that number by $350 and you should get pretty close.

Or you could call over there and ask. That would probably be easier. Don’t know if they will tell you but it is worth a try.

The Fabricator Network has 450 or so. Check the home page for an up to the minute tab. The FN is free so the math thing wouldn’t work.
