MemberScott,
I would definitely take Jon up on the offer of visiting Sterling Surfaces. You are fortunate to be visiting a city not far away from them, and I wouldn’t pass up the opportunity. You will see things and learn things there – general fabrication, thermoforming, digital templating, the advantages of CNC, etc. – that will be priceless. We are in PA. I’m not an owner, but I could get one of the owners in contact with you if you are interested in visiting.
Have a nice day,
Seth

MemberScott,
I’m more than happy to help. What good is knowledge if you can’t share it. We’ve all needed help at some point. Good luck. Besides I’ve got some Scottish blood in my veins.

KeymasterScott,
You are more than welcome to come to California, but it is a long trip.

MemberScott,
You are more than welcome to come to Omaha, Nebraska. We are in the dead center of the US. I’ve had a conversation with Matt from Formica about 3 weeks ago. If my memory serves me right. He may be putting a trip together for some of Formica’s fabrication people and possibly some of us fabricators. I’m sure he will jump in here and confirm this. However, you are more than welcome here. Jon at Sterling would be probably one of the best educational places to go. Those guys do it all.

MemberScott,
I second the recommendation for visiting Jon Sterling Surfaces. They are an excellent group with a great attitude toward helping their fellow fabricators. If you don’t mind a little more travel, we are about an hour or so from Sterling, in South Windsor, Ct. Always happy to help a fellow Scott (though I am clan Donald).

MemberScott,
Thanks for the reply. You can contact me at area code (860) 528-5667. I would be hapy to have you. We don’t have quite the imnpressive operation that Sterling has, but it will give you a different perspective on how a shop runs. You will need to find your own set up for the best way to run you business, and it will take some trial and error. Together, we can help.

MemberHello Everyone. Thanks for all the nice complements. Every thing we’ve learned here we where helped along the way by fellow fabricators. So thanks. Tom much was learned those first years the show started. Get ready its going to be a great year in the industry for fabricators and networking. Big surprises coming soon.
