MemberThanks John, that will work. Anything deeper would probably be too heavy anyway, for my piece of mind. I called them, price is good, I am going to order it. You the man, thanks again

MemberHow was that sink Norm? Did you take a pic???

MemberKelsey the sink is ok, it was hard to tell what it looked like on their website. It actually tapers smaller as you go to the bottom of it, and it has ribs on the inside of the front portion, kinda like the old laundry tubs that you scrub stuff on. My customer saw the sink and approved it so I guess that is good, didn’t want to send it all the way back to Utah, lol. I ordered one in cream and it has a 3/16″ layer of cream solid surface on the inside then the rest of it is white. I know 3/16″ is alot to hack away at before you get to the white material, but that part still bothers me, I wish it were the same color throughout. I wil be fabbing it next week and will take a pic and post it.
What color sink did you use for the last Goldmine job you did, my customer isn’t going with bronze because it is three times the price, times two bowls. Also, are you using Avonite sinks?

MemberNorm, Yes i used the Avonite sink AB-1815 IVORY
Looked real nice in it. Do you do a 1″ edge on your vanities or 1 1/2″.
I just do an 1″ top.

MemberKelsey, I already did one vanity top for this customer and did a 1 1/2″ edge on it, she might think I am being cheap if I do an inch. I will ask her though, who knows, she might like the idea. I may start doing them that way though, I have alot of 4′ foot or so lengths laying around I can use for vanities, I am going to start pushing those colors, maybe give a discount on them, beats having money laying around collecting dust.

MemberKelsey, here is a pic of the top I did with the Integra laundry sink.

MemberKelsey, what router bit are you using for an ogee edge on the vanity tops you are doing. I can’t seem to find one that really “pops” when you see it.
January 24, 2007 at 6:24 am #13562KCWOOD
MemberNorm, it’s just the smallest Ogee bit you can find, with 1/4″shank. I think it is listed 3/32″. I’ll check when I get to the shop.
I do my backsplashes a little different, one reason a designer contacted me when she saw one of my tops in a clients home. I bring my backsplash all the way to the end, which requires you stopping the edge contour 1/2″ short of the back.
To me, that is just one of those subtle differences that makes SS fabrication unique.

Integra sinks are thermoformed from a 5mm sheet of acrylic. Hence your comments about 3/16″ being creme with the balance white. The white is a fiberglas reinforcement. They are great sinks that will give your customers many years of good service. They are similar in construction to Karran sinks. (no I don’t sell either ! )

You don’t offer the splashes both ways?
January 24, 2007 at 4:37 pm #13604KCWOOD
MemberNo Tom I don’t. I can’t be talked into doing less than a 2′ buildup either.

MemberWhat’s a 2′ build up?
January 24, 2007 at 6:03 pm #13608Tom M
MemberAnd why would anyone not offer both? There are planty of times where one is more apropriate over the other?
