Memberare you using the new small square tips?

MemberWe just had it happen to us yesterday. This is the third time its happened in about 4 months. Thank god it was in an edge, but we have had it happen in a deck seam before. How do you store yours? We store ours in a fridge standing up.

MemberGtop, are you letting the adhesive come up to room temperature, about 70 degrees before you use it. If you don’t it won’t mix correctly in the tip.

Member70 degrees?Good gravy, is that the new standard? It used to be 64.
It’s 13 frickin’ degrees outside. I am not getting my fabricastion shop up to 70. No way.Tom

MemberMy shop is 59 degrees no problems here with the Integra glue. In fact I have never had a problem. I, am sure once Ray or Chad sees this post . They’ll get to the bottom of the problem.
PS Tom 13 degrees to Norm would be 70 degrees. Those Florida boys have it easy.

MemberYeah, Jon.
My dad loves it when I tell him the temp up here after he does his snowbird thing. Well, today, anyway.
Not so much in the early part of “winter”.Tom

MemberWe were notified by Chris @ Countertops Unlimited this week that he has had a problem with 1 tube of Glacier White. FedEx is or has picked that tube up already and we will test that cartridge once it returns. Replacement product was shipped the same day we knew of the problem. I will try and have the lab do a video of the test, and post results. This cartridge is nearly 6 months old so there is a chance that with our warm summer it was damaged in shipping/storage, it is also possible that it is a bad tube of glue.
To achieve a proper cure every time many factors need to be achieved.
1.Quality adhesives 2.Quality dispensers 3.Ideal Storage conditions 4.Temperature above 50 degrees 5.Correctly filled cartridges.
I am curious who qtops is as with no company name and only joining the forum today we do not know of him.

MemberInteresting point. Andy, Mory, I know you guys don’t insist on some kind of ID in the name of the poster, but most of us are fairly well ID’d in either our nicks or our sidebars. Do you guys encourage this, or do you care either way?Ray, if you don’t mind, how much does it cost to test the glue? Will the test be reliable enough to find any problems, whether due to known factors or unknown? Is there a point of diminishing returns? That’s gotta be a tough call, soometimes.
I am genuinely curious, because when you’re talking about improving, say, a ninety-five to ninety-eight percent success rate, and you’re gonna send the dang new glue to the person right quick (as you just showed us), is there some point where it’s all just silly to test the product? What am I missing here?
Assuming most of us order enough considering this possibility, it seems that labor is the real pisser here. Is this industry ready for a product that simplifies insert repaires over a variety of lengths? Maybe a bevel cutting bit for the drop edge jobs?
Glue guys – you might want to check out the possibilities.

MemberGot off the phone with Ray and he is going to do a test on our kit as well. Ray is a great guy and had some very helpful hints for me. Also sorry for the confusion, I didn’t know how to get my information and my settings.
