The water jet cutting thing may be an issue, but I can probably work out a deal with one of my stone/quartz suppliers.

John, how tough is the polishing/finishing on these?

    Hi Tom,

No tougher than stone. Fabricators routinely take GleenGlass from rough to full polish with standard hand and machine tools.

please send samples or sample to:

    Refresh Interiors, Inc.c

Gladya said that about fabrication…one of the lame things bio-glass said was that you have to have a water jet to fabricate it…and even though you can prove to them how to you dont..it went against their policy…Paperstone is just as lame…they sell it without the opinions of the people who worked with it and experienced better ways..Paperstone still sends out unfinished samples to people that you can scratch with your finger nail…manufacturing slabs or sheets doesnt neccessarily mean you know how to fab it good..anyway

I so look forward to testing your product..can you call me for a faster way to get it to me? or email me

Glass 2nd Generation is sold in Canada by a company (granite supplier) called Mondial. Call and ask for Serge, perhaps he can help you out.

    Gene and Tom,

Samples are going out today via USPS. Sorry for the delay.

We have fabricators cut sink holes routinely with an Alpha hand saw and a concurve blade. Waterjet is great for making nice 90-degree sink holes for drop ins and other fancy cuts that hand or bridge saws cannot do.

    John,
I got the samples the other day. Thank you for getting them out.
I was surprised at the texture on the surface. I’m not sure how good a countertop it would make, but I would love to see some fabricated tops. I wll show this to some partners in the trade and see what they think.

It looks like the material is made from layers of molten glass, folded back on itself. Is this correct?

    Hi Tom,

The linen texture of the surface is useful in some settings. The samples I sent out were cut offs from steam room seating that went into a hotel in California. Try polishing out the surface to see if you like that finish better. I did send the samples so you could cut and polish on them. Have you tried that yet?

The pattern you received was the Gleen pattern which is formed of layers of recycled glass broken sheets melted together under high heat. As it melts the pieces bend and wave.
