MemberHow far from the back of the vanity do you guys mount the bowl.
Corian 810 bowl, no splash. Will have tile WITHOUT a backer board. Pretty “normal” hardware.
Thanks

Member12″ or so for myself, measured from the back of the top to the lateral centerline of the sink. The 810 has that annoying overflow elbow that has to clear the inside of the cabinet’s face-frame. Be careful not to move the sink to close to the profiled edge. 12 and 3/16’s from the back will make that overflow just touch the cabinet face frame.

MemberChris,
I usually don’t position a bowl according to the back of the vanity. I make sure that the faucet will clear the finished wall treatment, but I position the sink with the overflow or flange normally 3/8″ inside of the inside of the face frame. This is at 2-1/8″ with 1″ overhang and a typical 3/4″ face frame. If the vanity is extra deep, say 25″, I normally move the sink back around an inch so it doesn’t look out of place. I’ve been told, and agree, that it is better to have a bowl positioned as far front as possible. This leaves less of an area for water to lay on, and also leaves more room in the back for toothbrush holders, soap dishes, window sills, etc.
Have a nice day,

MemberWhat Seth said. I go from the front too, However.. it is different on a Staron sink that has a front overflow and a Avonite that has a rear overflow. and always remember
write with a marker FRONT on the sink when you take it out of the box. I think we all have almost and some have attached the sink backwards LOL!!

MemberChris,
I will look on Monday at our CAD file but the lateral center lines should be 10 1/2″ from the front edge. If you go off the front edge and make yourself a jig that butts up the front edge and you just center on your center marks on the top, when you start doing a bit more it will make life easier, but always go off the front cause the first time someone has a bumped sink box and you leave it back, it will look a little off.

MemberThanks guys,
Seth,
Your answer was actually much better than my question. If that makes any sense. The vanity is slightly larger 23.5” or so and I wasn’t sure if I should reference from the front or the back.
John,
I will definetly make a jig for the upcoming Dorm Renovation.

KeymasterMy standard setback is 3 3/4″ from the front edge. We like to have at least 5″ from the back of the sink to the wall.
