MemberI wonder if that has gotten DuPont’s attention, as I am pretty sure they also handle Granite by DuPont.
another good find, FedSearch Dave.

MemberGotten Duponts attention? Parksite IS all things Dupont. So would they not have an interest…at least in this venture??

MemberDave, they had this at the Expo, I talked to them about it and they told me Parksite was my distributor for it.

MemberCheck that one out Tom. Seems like this “new” product might be under the umbrella of Dupont.

MemberFindStuffDave,
Looks like there might be a connection, but some of their other products are most certainly not DuPont materials. Still, there are times when you wish that someone from DuPont actually responds here, not just reads it.
Anyone?
Thought not.
Anyway, I can’t get too deep into it now. It’s twenty till 11:00, I just finished the last bit of work, and my family is loading the van without me. They might leave without me this a.m. if I stay up any longer.

MemberSoterra is not a DuPont product. I went through training on this product two years ago. It was introduced by a company called Surfacing Products International who in turn established distributors to provide the training and distribution of the product. The process was to invest 25k and an additional 1200 for training, for the 25k investment you would receive various material of that value. Their product was called ThinSlabz and was basically natural stone, granite and marble, that are about 1cm thick with a reinforcement backer of either fiberglass or aluminum. They had several trim options, matching tiles, and 2cm vanities. The system had me sold right up till I invested in it and went through the training, then nothing was happening the way they said as far as the marketing and support and I started to loose my confidence in the guys that sold me on the system so I got my investment money back and was happy that I only was out a couple of thousand for the experience.
I think it could be a good product to get into but I would be very leery to invest a huge amount of money to see if it would work out. Maybe they are not doing it that way any more and you could just buy the material? I feel Shirestone could be a good product to get onto as well but after my experience with Soterra I have decided that if a company requires a huge investment to be able to work with their material I will decline every time.

MemberJust this past week, my Corian rep introduced me to this product, Soterra.. I believe it to be the same product that I am seeing in the newer Choice Hotel chain??
There doesn’t seem to be any discussion about this product anywhere. The training DVD to install shower kits is $495, the custom install class at the distributor is $900 and if you attend the manufacturers class in Racine Wisconsin, it is $2950. My understanding, the $900 class is mandatory if you want to purchase the material.
Just wondering if anyone besides Shane has done this class for certification or is selling the material? Their prefinished 2cm Granite vanity program looks like it would be an asset. Just courious.
