A member pays a 39.95 fee per month to list their unused SS for sale on their site.
I just got a mailing detailing their internet based company

MemberKC,
First glance – an interesting idea.
I wonder, though, how many fabricators are going to be able to fine tune their inventory so that if a piece is cut, or used, will the site always be updated? The longer this goes on, the sloppier the inventory. Then you’ll have the frustration of scrambling to get the order in on less time, because you trusted that the small piece would be available..Tom

KeymasterI just got the flier also. I don’t know if something like this will work or not. I know that solidsurfacesurplus.com is doing the same thing without the member fee. I don’t like member fees (note: The Fabricator Network is FREE).
Shipping cost are going to hurt, plus how do you crate the material for safe transport. Lots of questions to be answered here.

MemberHmmmmm. These guys are in my backyard and I’ve never heard of them. As a matter of fact I have a rep who lives in that city. He’s never heard of them. No phone number I saw on the website so I could not call.
Hmmmm…

MemberWell, I found their address and principals in the company by going here:
http://www.sunbiz.org/corpweb/inquiry/corinam.html
Then typing their name in the search box.

MemberNot to iritate those that already have those websites, but as much as we all post here we could have a thread that is similar. I know some in the past have asked if any one has this or that but if needed we could do that here as a member benefit. Just a thought plus I am sure some of us would look forward to getting rid of some scraps from “The Bone Yard”, and like Andy said its FREE.

MemberShipping cost are going to hurt, plus how do you crate the material for safe transport. Lots of questions to be answered here. Not to mention at what point in shipping does possession change? Who is responsible for insurance (the buyer, most likely)? Once these costs are added in, how much is the hassle worth? When we as Fabricator businessmen/women become too business and not enough fabricator, something’s amiss.
Dave, you really need to pay more attention. I sent them an email, but haven’t heard anything yet. HummYa know, they might have jumped the gun in the start up. Presumably this is early in the process. They need other companies to build inventory, as that’s the whole friggin’ point. How to get it? well, this is one way to do that.
But seriously, guys, other than Mr. Type A Sterling guy, how strict do you keep your inventory, to the point where evry single sample you cut means you resize the piece? Not me.
