MemberOkay how hard shoud it be to clean off easter egg dye from solid surface after the kids get done? Will it need light sanding or just wiped off?

MemberReuben,
It probably will not just wipe off unless you use something with a little bleach in it. I use Clorox Clean-up on my Corian and it removes alot of stuff. If that doesn’t work, Comet and a sponge should to the trick. I don’t think you will need to sand it off.

MemberReuben, I would suggest no less than a 24 grit sanding belt. JUST KIDDING. We dyed eggs last nite but did it on a glass top table covered with news paper. No fuss, no muss.

MemberWell I guess I got the Mom outa todays bunch right away. You can tell Linda must a been there done that with the quick no muss no fuss answer.
Actually what I did was this. We were out here at the shop and the kids did not have school today so we thought to help keep them occuppied it would be a good idea to have them dye their Easter Eggs .
. We are always having people ask us about the staining so I had them dye the eggs over some scrap peices that I had laying around and had my better half take pictures. When done I had her clean up the mess after the dye got to sit on the samples for about 2 hours after they were done. She rinsed it with saop water(pictures) then with a sponge and non abrasive Comet with bleached proceede to scrub off the Dye on half the sample. Looks just like they did before the kids started dying the eggs. Left the other half just so when people come in they can see what the stains were like. Also we will see how hard they are to get out after days of setting there. Got the little tikes putting spagetti sauce, rerd food colloring and whatever they want to try and stain it with now. So we can have some good examples for our customers. Like Linda said little bleach and away they went. Thanks for the fast response to by the way. Good to know we got it covered on the Fab Net.
