Alright I have an idea. I was thinking about making a water fountain on a drainboard in a countertop. I would put a pump in a bucket attached to the bottom of the sink and pump the water up through the drainboard. Then I could glue some dishes over the drainboard to simulate drying dishes. The water would flow over the dishes, down the drainboard and in the sink.

Is this a cool idea or kinda lame. Be honest, no fence sitters.

Cool idea as long as you use purified water or change it regularly so you do not get that scumm that developes in old water. I would say check with the cleaning crew first or they might duct tape you to the ceiling if they are always having to clean it.

Its a great idea and a great draw. We did something similar (no drainboard) for a home show and the running water did draw some attention. As Rueben said, make sure you use distilled water (no calcium build up) and add chorine or… You could even put it on some sort of sensor so it turned on when people approached. Then if you don’t have people in the showroom its not running. This would also be good with Cove Splashs.. No Drip front edge etc.. Certainly would show off the advantages of Solid Surface.

Wags great thought, it would be nice to show this type of this at shows for Comercial jobs, they love EZ care stuff.

Andy, over all it might look better if you pumped the watter up from the bottem side, had it come out the end of the drain board and flow down the groves into the sink. This way the pump would not show and you could still but a sencer on it for when someone walks by. Be sure to use a color that shows well with watter.

You could rig a faucet with a rinsing spray over it. Why not show them the real deal?

Yea, I’ll put the pump in a bucket under the sink, then run a tube up throught the drainboard, through the dishes and down the drain.

Good Idea with the distilled water and chlorin. And of course the automatic timer sounds like a great idea.
