MemberI was wondering if any of you out there using Dovae solid surface are having problems with pin holes thru out the sheets? I have been using Dovae for over 3 years and never had a problem until the last 3 months. I am not talking about just a few but I have been getting sheets that look like a shotgun blast. Sometimes we can see them as soon as we peel the plastic and most of the time they show up when we start sandind the tops. So far Chemcore has stood behind the product and I have even had the owner of Dovae fly out to my shop to inspect the sheets and he said the problem was the new mfg. line he put in. This problem is not only in the Acrylic Blend but also in the 100% Acrylic. The holes are from the size of .7mm pencil lead to almost BB size.
I know a certain amount of this is acceptable and I have in the past taken care of the problem in shop if we have two or three but when we have 10 to 15 in 2 1/2 sq. ft. it can be a nightmare. I’m just wondering if I am the only one with the problem or if anybody else is have the same kind of problems.

MemberFrom what I have been told, Dovae’s material supplier has been changed. The timing is within the time frame you are speaking of. Perhaps the new supplier is the problem.

KeymasterAs long as the supplier acknowledges the problem and takes care of it is the only thing I worry about. Nice to hear Johnny Crain is looking into the problem.
Keep us posted.

MemberWe’ve had a few sheets with some very tiny pin holes but none of the the size of bb’s. They have been good to us in working through issues. That’s why we still use them.

MemberUp date on Dovae pin holes from William.
I brought in 35 sheets of Dovae last week for several jobs, out of the 35 sheets 20 of the sheets have a large number of various size pin holes and some of the ones that were to be color matched were not close. I had to switch two jobs to Staron so I could get the jobs done on time. I even brought in a Lugano LUMP900 sink and it had holes in it. I have used the Lugano Vanity sinks befor with no problems but this is the first Kit. sink and I am not impressed.
I have been using Dovae for over 3 years and never had a problem like this. I keep getting told that I seem to be the only one having this problem. They are trying to work with me on this but I can’t keep bringing material in and sending it back and then waiting for another shipment to take 4 days to get to me and find more holes. This has a tendency to mess up my install schedule.
So as of this date this is where I stand with the Dovae pin holes
