I am trying to create a sign with our logo but I am getting confused on the process. I cannot seem to get our logo into cad using all the other programs. Can anyone help me on this? Here is a what our logo looks like.

    Thanks,

    Robert

Email me the file and I will see what I can do with it. It must be a DXF, DWG, AI, EPS image Those are the only formats that will be easily converted. Anything else is going to take much more time.

    Robert,

Was your logo proffessionally done, or done with an art Vector system like Adobe Illustrator, or Corel Draw?

Until you get real good, you might want to lose the drop shadow.

I created it myself with Adobe Illustrator. I could not save as a .ai file due to problems with my software, so that means I can’t go in and remove drop shadow. I have the file in a .png, .gif, and .jpg file.

I am new to all this so I will try and recreate without a drop shadow.

If I still have it, I will try to find some vector state outlines, if you need them. Let me know.

Always check your image in wireframe mode as you progress, and it will give you an idea of how the route will work.

If you still have issues, Andy or I might be able to import what you send (in vector mode) and we can save as .dxf, if we can open it.

You might try and export as a .plt if Adobe lets you. I don’t think the drop shadow would present any file difficulties, but it also shouldn’t show up in wireframe, as it is an effect, not a change in math.

    Tom,

I discussed it with Andy and I think I am on the right track now, I say again ‘I think’. If you have those state outlines that would be great and probably make my struggle a little easier.

Thanks Tom and Andy for your help and input!
