MemberDid anyone ship a vanity top with 6 sinks to Rawlins WY. If so the customer would like me to go do his seem for him. I have no problem with this but I need some details of whats involved. I.E. Color type of coved bs and finish?
This job is 100 miles from me so I dont want to go all the way there and figure out I cant do it or didnt bring the right stuff with me.
If any one has info on this please call me.

MemberThe customer can’t provide you with that info?? They don’t know who they paid?? Think they got it from that internet self install site that Avonite canned from selling their product?
Confusing post you are asking….

MemberNo Jon,
I think it was me. I was supposed to send them to Pawling, N.Y., and the pen blurred on the P and turned it into an R. Your Rawlins tops were fine, after we resanded, re-mounted the sink, and remade them the correct color.Tom

MemberThe company they came from was Wood Dimensions
When you call there phone# it says
thanks for calling solid surfaces plus.
and of course they did not send adhesive
dunno didnt have time to go throgh all the button pushing to actually talk to someone.
You would think it would be against Corian’s policy to ship tops to a contractor with no way to do a seem.
Guess there just like the rest, sell it and worry about the rest later.

MemberTravis i dont think Corian shipped the top. It looks like it was the fabricator that did..

MemberTravis I have to admit… this is the most bizarre thing I have read in a while.
1) someone you don’t know 100 miles away calls you to install a top
2) You , or they don’t know color or exactly who sold it.
3) Some one bought a vanity with 6 sinks as is and it was up to them to find someone to install with field seam
4) you find out who, call and they have an advanced $$$ phone system with options but no one answers
Has it occured to you someone is playing a joke on you? If not, why waste your time with this nonsense??

Trust me this is not an ideal situation for me. The contractor did fax me a po#. It is a TA truck stop remodel. I agree that this is just a waste of my time but I seem to get myself into this kind of thing every now and then just trying to be nice and help someone out in need.

MemberOh yeah it was home depot that gave the contractor my name as a Corian Dealer. I did tell the contractor that generally I do not work on other peoples tops but if I did this I would take no liability whatsoever.

MemberJust thoght I would update everyone on this deal. Its kinda funny. So I tell the contractor that I am sorry I will be unable to travel
over there and work on someone elses top.(Left him a voice mail)A little later my shop foreman is in my office and the guy calls so my
shop guy talks with him and basically he is begging. My shop foreman
comes to me and says “hey I will run over and do this, its no big deal”
I reply fine but I am not paying you if you get all the way there and
cant complete the job for whatever reason. Now the funny part.
1st of all. the top is wall to wall and the gap between them is less
than 1/16″ so we cant get glue in the joint. The contractor takes his
worm drive and starts cutting on the end of the top while in
place(cutting top and wall) just butchered it.ok now we have a gap. but the contractor has glued one side of the top
down and installed all pluming in both sides and hung mirrors on the
wall that go all the way down to the backsplash..After working though all of this my guy goes to pull the tops together
to do the dry fit and low and behold.. the seem block already glued to
one side is hitting the sink on the other side so the tops cannot be
pulled together.Man was I laughing at 2pm in the afternoon when my guy was on the phone
with me explaining this. All I could think was “I told you so”Needless to say my guy didnt get paid that day.
Well except for the other install he had that day that took him til 8pm to complete.
