MemberOn Friday morning the Behemoth was delivered from Germany. Think German engineering – BMW, Porsche, the V2. Precision, solidity, reliability.

MemberMark, the Engineer from HOMAG who with a couple of “skids” proved Newton’s theory of friction.

How can a machine which requires a 25 tonne crane to offload be moved on a couple of rollers no bigger than a large paperback book?

Like all our worktops, bespoke, built to order…

This was the simple part. The process of tooling up your operation with a CNC is far from straightforward. More in due course.

Does it sing “Daisy”?
Call it HAL.
Interesting fact – H+1 = I, A+1= B, L+1 = M. HAL / IBM

MemberPatrick you guys over there really do things right. I just look at the pictures again. The truck used to deliver the CNC even makes sense. Nice tool changer. Do you know how many feet per inches you can rout? Do you know of any other fabricators that have the CNC you have? Your going to kick butt with that bad boy.April 15, 2007 at 6:35 pm #18492Terry Stone
MemberOh, yeah. I see some late nights at the shop for (hopefully only) a coupla weeks til evrything starts cookin’ seamlessly. Don’t forget to call home to say you’ll be late for dinner… Speaking from personal experience, though I realize technology has advanced monumentally in the past several years since we got ours. I read of another shop who got a new one and productivity actually fell off for a few weeks because everybody in the shop stopped working to watch it run!
