I thought I would post these pictures of an Avonite job we installed today. It is actually a bar top in a restaurant. Now we will have to go back and repolish it after everyone is done working in there, but it turned out pretty nice. Not too sure how it will hold up in a high traffic area. However, they do want to talk about a maintenence program.

We put the first job in oklahoma using it a few years ago, ten sheet kitchen job. The customer beats the crap out of it, hot pots, drags stuff across it, treats it like formica. Had to get them past thinking it would reflect light perfectly from all angles, then they just use it. No complaints so far.

    Al,

This is a new spec for Red Robin Restaurants. There may be one in your area soon.

Mory, how did you handle the substrate on it? Solid or ventilated slats? Seems like solid might help it take the beating better but might introduce problems.

I have worked on three or four bars, cowboy or rock and roll bars, and can testifiy to the abuse they take. Looks like these won’t have to have chicken wire wrapped around them to deflect the beer bottles.
