I just heard that NASA is due to launch the space shuttle on March 15. This should be able to be seen from Orlando. One more reason to attend Expo !

The view from Orlando should be pretty good Wags, we can see it pretty well from Tampa.

    Night time or daytime?

    It makes a big difference.

You can see it in the daytime as well although it is obviously more dramatic at nite. Being that NASA has to go by the elements & that everything is running smoothly, the shuttle going up on time is not always reliable.

    From the Nasa Website

    Launch date: March 15+

    STS-117

STS-117 will deliver a second starboard truss segment and a third set of solar arrays and batteries during the Space Shuttle Program’s 21st mission to the International Space Station.

    Launch Time: 6:43 a.m.

Our plan lands in Orlando at 7:45 am so it look like we’re going to miss it if they go off on time. Bummer…

Heck Chad, just look out the window to the east if you’re anywhere in the neighborhood of Florida. You sir, will probably have the best view !

Yea, me and Val are going to go see it. Chad told me about it couple weeks ago so we think it is a no miss event.
