We have clear chips in our poly blend product that we make in our shop. Its not Lexan, it just a non-pigmented chip. ATH & resin, no pigment.
Nothing to be scared of. As far as the smell, that chip may be poly in an acrylic sheet. Are you familar with poly smell when you cut it??
